We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Specialist Gastroenterologist to join a leading healthcare facility in the UAE. The successful candidate will diagnose and manage a wide range of gastrointestinal and hepatobiliary conditions and provide comprehensive, patient-centered care.
Key Responsibilities
Conduct comprehensive gastroenterology consultations and clinical assessments.
Diagnose and manage disorders of the gastrointestinal tract, liver, gallbladder, and pancreas.
Manage conditions including GERD, peptic ulcer disease, IBS, inflammatory bowel disease, gastrointestinal bleeding, and liver disorders.
Perform and interpret upper GI endoscopy and colonoscopy where appropriately qualified.
Perform diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopic procedures within the scope of expertise.
Evaluate and manage patients with chronic liver disease, hepatitis, cirrhosis, and related complications.
Assess patients with abdominal pain, dysphagia, altered bowel habits, and other gastrointestinal symptoms.
Interpret laboratory investigations, ultrasound, CT, MRI, and other relevant diagnostic studies.
Provide appropriate screening and surveillance for gastrointestinal cancers where applicable.
Develop individualized treatment plans and monitor patient response.
Provide counseling regarding diet, lifestyle, medications, and disease prevention.
Collaborate with surgeons, oncologists, radiologists, pathologists, and other specialists.
Maintain accurate patient records and clinical documentation.
Participate in multidisciplinary meetings, clinical audits, quality improvement initiatives, and Continuing Medical Education (CME).
Ensure compliance with UAE healthcare regulations, hospital policies, infection control standards, and patient safety requirements.
Participate in on-call duties where required.
Qualifications & Requirements
MBBS or equivalent medical degree from a recognized institution.
MD / DNB / DM / MRCP / FRCP / Arab Board or equivalent recognized postgraduate qualification in Gastroenterology.
Valid or eligible DHA / DOH / MOH license, as applicable.
Minimum 3 years of post-specialization experience as a Specialist Gastroenterologist.
Strong clinical experience in general gastroenterology.
Experience in diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy is preferred.
Excellent clinical judgment, communication, and patient management skills.
Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
